Features

The Lattainer comprises of a complete GSM site within a custom built container, which adheres to international telecommunication specifications. This guarantees site quality, as all materials are factory assembled and quality assured before dispatch.

Implementation of the Lattainer system greatly reduces logistical problems.

All electrical reticulation, aircon units, ACDC power and associated installation work can be done in a quality controlled factory environment. All feeders are cut to size, fitted with connectors, tested and certified in a factory environment. No wastage.

Because the site size is reduced, less site works are needed, rental costs are cheaper and there would be greater versatility in site acquisitions.

Using the ground anchor system, these sites could be rated by local authorities as either temporary or permanent. The ground anchor system uses on average 70% less concrete than standard GSM sites, thereby reducing logistics of locally supplied aggregate. Because the foundation bases are pre-cast in a factory environment, on site civil works are greatly reduced. The installation of foundations, using this system, is performed with equal ease in ground containing hard rock as with pickable ground conditions.

The earthing system makes use of the 200 mm dia. x 6 m deep holes drilled for the ground anchors. There is no longer a need for container or generator plinths. The built-in electrical supply meter will be readily available for local access to allow for monthly readings. A built-in gland plate accepts up to twelve GSM feeders and six TXMN feeders.

The overall security of the equipment and mast is greatly enhanced.

An easily accessible refuelling point is made available. For security reasons, both the meter and refuel points will have separate access routes through the fence.

Due to the modular nature of the Lattainer system, overall installation time is substantially reduced. The external steel cladding of the Lattainer (internal chromadek), as well as the billboard option, allows for an aesthetically pleasing site presentation together with advertising opportunities to generate further revenue.

The Lattainer's layout adheres to international telecommunication requirements regarding the reduction of interference due to induction from the AC supply and other power sources into the telecommunication equipment. The fundamental structure of the container forms an effective Faraday Cage.

Complete certification of all the components of the Lattainer is done during assembly at the factory. Viz Compliance with Environmental Scoping Reports, SABS 0142 electrical wiring and Tower Manufacture Certification. All components shipped in the container are tested for functionality prior to dispatch from the factory. Modular layouts allow easy and rapid expansion to live networks with the minimum of disruption.

Unnecessary duplication of components such as surge arrestors, a functional layout of equipment, and correct specification of wiring dimensions reduces costs and possibility of components failure. All components are fitted with standardized bolts and screws, enhancing the modularity of the system, and allowing for simple expansion using the minimum of tools.

Comprehensive documentation can be provided with the Lattainer to simplify and expedite swift acceptance and commissioning of the station. Provision of customized containers, for Internet facilities and Public Telephone systems, is possible with the minimum lead times.
