Automatic Mains Failure Board

Enclosure

All electrical equipment is housed in a robust sheet metal IP54 powder coated enclosure. The panel is set mounted, wall mounted or floor standing, depending on customer requirements. The transfer section of the panel is in a separate compartment to the control equipment. Ample access is available in the cubicle and all compartments have removable powder coated white chassis plates. Each compartment has its' own full size door.

Programmable Logic Controller

Control and protection of the genset is via a fully configurable Automatic Mains Failure Deep Sea Electronics module. The primary design of this PLC is to start a generator on a mains failure, transfer the load when the engines' operating criteria have been met, and on restoration of the mains the engine is returned to a stand by mode. Operation of the system is simple and user friendly. There is only one knob with four positions on the PLC and all sets information is displayed on an illuminated Liquid Crystal Display. Because of the micro process control, the panel has very few electrical components.

Contactors

Only Telemecanique, TC or Lovato A.C.3 rated contactors that are electrically and mechanically interlocked are used.

Instrumentation

All instrumentation is door mounted and our standard supply will indicate the following: -

  1. Current (with 100% overload) on all three phases.
  2. Voltage line to line and line to neutral.
  3. Number of hours run.
  4. Supply frequency.
  5. Battery charger current and voltage.
  6. Engine oil pressure.
  7. Engine coolant temperature.
  8. Engine alternat or charge rate (zero center).
  9. Emergency Stop mushroom head push button.

Electrical Protection

Both utility and emergency power supplies are protected by correctly rated circuit breakers. Surge arrester and earth fault tripping device are optional. Mirlin Gerin equipment is used.

Non Standard Requirements

Above are details of our standard AMF panels. We are able to conform to most customer specifications.
